The Pack Relocation was approved to 328 8 Street East. The new location, a few doors from the current one, will provide a dedicated parking lot and increased indoor/outdoor space, with a fully fenced, double-gated yard. The facility will have improved noise control and layout, with the reception at the front and drop-off at the back. Conditions include proper waste disposal, noise suppression, and compliance with safety codes. Outdoor use is restricted to 7AM to 10PM Monday to Friday and 9AM to 10PM on weekends.

Multi-Unit Dwelling Applications Denied - Applications for two 8-plex units on 16 Street East were denied due to insufficient parking. Despite zoning for high-density residential, residents’ preference for parking on the street rather than in the back has created a negative parking situation. Concerns over street congestion and the impracticality of stacked parking were raised. A proposal to widen the street by removing the grass boulevard is being considered for the 2025 budget, though it will not increase parking spaces.

Daycare expanding - Lion Daycare Centre 2, which opened in June 2024 in the Ebony Cosmetics & Hair Lounge is expanding. They are expanding into the space previously occupied by St. Luke’s Outreach Centre. St. Luke’s Outreach Centre has since relocated downtown to 212 2 Ave W, the former location of the Academy of Learning next to Canadian Pizza.

Construction beside the Post Office - a development permit was issued in 2020 and renewed several times. The developer is planning to begin construction this fall. “They have been communicating well with us” reported Lisa Tiffin from the City. “We're really excited to see that one coming forward” The development is a 43 unit apartment complex.

Halloween fundraiser - The museum will again be transformed into a haunted house this year to raise funds. They are also seeking volunteers and sponsors for the Christmas light display. Alan Lutes, who previously played a key role in organizing the display, will need to be replaced by a team of five to ten people to continue the tradition.

Brooks Music Festival - Celebrate local talent at the Fall Into Music Concert on October 22, 7 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Free admission, and donations are appreciated.
