WHAT IS YOUR WHY? We have a meat market that supplies locally sourced beef, pork and chicken at a retail level. We provide a product that is fresh and offer it at a fair price.

CHALLENGES in your industry? So far, our only challenge is letting people know where we are. We have a sign, a newspaper ad, Facebook, Instagram, and radio and people still say they didn't know where to find us. Also, we get confused with the red barn A LOT.

MOTIVATION - What keeps you going on difficult days? We love our shop. We love the people that come in, even to just say hi and help sample some sausage!

Attainable Housing is the biggest challenge to the community. A large number of people have been unable to move to the Brooks Newell Region due to a lack of housing. There is substantial residential land available for growth but the land is difficult to service so developers have to pay for upgrades. Council discussed the need to advocate to the Federal and Provincial Ministers responsible for housing about the urgency of paying for infrastructure costs to accommodate housing development to address the housing shortage. Council also discussed discounting land prices for City-owned land.

Given the recent increased interest that a number of County residents have expressed in a variety of matters facing the County an information meeting where the public can participate via various methods will take place on April 6 at 1:00PM and 6:00PM. This will enhance the level of convenience and ensure attendees have meaningful opportunities to provide input. The public will be able to engage with and obtain feedback on matters that may potentially impact residents.

Trees are being removed along 2nd Ave between 1st St W and 3rd St E in preparation for road reconstruction in the area. The trees are not in the best condition and growing too large, causing surrounding sidewalks and asphalt to lift, which has become a safety issue. Any residents living adjacent to where the construction of the road will take place can have a tree planted on their property at no cost. The Parks department will also be planting two trees for every tree removed throughout the City in various greenspaces.
