Plowing is done immediately and throughout a snowfall on the busiest arterial and collector roads. These roads become slippery quicker than others and take salt and sand to make them safe. Snow removal normally starts at 1:00AM. Two major snow events occurred in 2024 to date. The estimated cost to move snow and apply sand and salt was $10,000/day over 14 days. The snow removal budget in 2024 is just over $250,000.
