AUGUST 23 2021

Cafés, coffee bars, and coffee houses are all great places to meet with friends or get work done. As more and more people start to view coffee shops as a place to gather socially, the coffee industry will continue to grow. startmycoffeeshop.com

What makes you an expert in the coffee shop industry: Taking the time to talk to the customers. Listening to the customers. Making a great cup of coffee.

Becoming a better version of ourselves is the motivator driving nearly all our decision. What is your advice?: Treat others the way you want to be treated. Be honest and caring. Put others before yourself. Patience.

BIG DREAM: I am living my dream now - I opened a coffee house. My dream now is that people leave my establishment feeling relaxed, rested and rejuvenated.

Bust the myths: The vaccine and fertility. The vaccine does not impact fertility or menstrual cycles. Confusion arose when a false report surfaced on social media saying that the spike protein on this coronavirus was the same as another spike protein, syncitin-1, involved in the growth and attachment of the placenta during pregnancy. The false report said getting the vaccine would cause the body to fight this spike protein and affect fertility. The two spike proteins are completely different.

COVID-19 vaccine program as of August 19:

  • 77.2% of Albertans 12+ with at least one dose

  • 52.1% in the Newell Region 12+ with at least one dose

Active cases of Covid-19: Brooks-23, County of Newell-11, Medicine Hat–523, Lethbridge-130, City of Calgary-1601

Why should we vote for you?

Mike Regner who is running for City Council responded to the question:

Brooks, born and raised. I want an active role in making it the BEST place to live. I’m a persistent person, who does what’s needed to achieve what I’m after. Today’s world brings new challenges/problems that conventional ideologies struggle to fix. Going forward, it will take adaptation with new perspectives, approaches and ‘outside the box’ thinking. That’s been the key to success in running my businesses for over 28 years. I have the dedication and skillset to make a difference on a larger level. I’m committed to the citizens/businesses of Brooks, listening to concerns and being their advocate.

How to (and Why) to Clarify Your Marketing Message

The average person spends 30 percent of their time daydreaming. In fact, much of the time we are talking with others, listening to speeches, scrolling through our phones, and even eating a meal, we are completely checked out.

Sadly, this means most of the time we are trying to explain something important to somebody, they’re fighting the temptation to daydream.

Unless.

The only tool known to man that can stop people from daydreaming is story. When we start to hear a story, we stop daydreaming and pay attention.

Story is that powerful.

In the next four weeks, we will take a closer look at the elements of story and help you craft a clearer and clearer message. No matter what project you’re working on, being able to talk about it in an engaging way will attract the resources you need to make the project a success.

TIP OF THE WEEK: Know how to filter your marketing message through the elements of a story in order to engage an audience.
