Alberta 55+ Summer Games 2023. Games in 15 core sports would be held throughout the Region if the bid submitted by the Joint Services Committee is accepted. From a tourism perspective, it is an opportunity to showcase the whole Region and all the tourist attractions to get visitors to come back again. The tourism aspect is not measured in the economic impact, but it is something that the Region would expect to happen. Several community halls and schools throughout the region could be used for events. Schools in Tilley, Rosemary, Duchess, Bassano and Rolling Hills; - Community Halls in Patricia, Duchess, Rolling Hills, 9-hole golf courses in Rolling Hills and Bassano

A piece of land was donated to the City of Brooks by W. Chan Investments Ltd (WCI). The land, appraised at approx. $1,251,000, is in the northeast sector of Brooks. Some examples of what the City could use the land for are a fenced dog park with a small pond for dogs to swim in, a location for a new community sign, or an extension of the Kiwanis campground.

Making Brooks "instagrammable". One of the Strategic Focus Areas from 2017-2021 was to make Brooks more attractive through a series of new community murals that would be "photo-friendly" and interactive so that users can pose with the artwork and take photos. A new series with the theme “Faces of Brooks" will highlight the diversity of people, backgrounds, and experiences in our community. Cyrstal Hancock is the artist who will be working with staff to develop the next round of community murals, to be revealled in August 2022.

Paul Brandt concert Saturday, August 13th at the Centennial Regional Arena. The goal for ticket sales is 2,800. There is a significant amount of volunteers required for this event. There is also a sizeable cost that the Brooks Elks Lodge has put out to secure Paul Brandt. To assist with this cost, the Brooks Elks Lodge is requesting that the booking fees for the Centennial Regional Arena be waived. The value of this in-kind donation is $4,087.66. Newell Connect is a smartphone app that provides residents of the County of Newell and the City of Brooks with a fast and efficient way to initiate service requests and/or locate valuable information.
