Pleasant Park Housing Extension Approved – Council approved a second one-year extension for a housing project on Pleasant Park Road West. The project includes 36 semi-detached units and 24 rental suites, for a total of 60 housing units. It was first approved in 2024 and already received one extension, but construction has not started. Administration said the property is now under sale to a new developer, the two lots have been consolidated, and updated servicing plans have been submitted. The new developer will be required to build according to the plans already approved by Council. The extension gives the developer more time to obtain a building permit and begin construction before June 14, 2027.

New at the Market – The first regular Brooks Farmers’ Market of the season brings back familiar favourites, and it also gives shoppers something new to discover. Round Box Foods from Lethbridge will be visiting with dessert sauces made with simple ingredients, in flavours including cocoa, toffee, berry, and cider . . . and cheesecake samples to try out ALL the flavours! It is one more reason to take a walk through the market, taste something new, and see what is here this week.

Food Trucks at Thursday Market – The first regular Brooks Farmers’ Market of the season is this Thursday in Veteran’s Park, and three food trucks are expected at the market. COD Almighty will have fish and chips, poutine, chicken fingers, and corn dogs. The Focal Eatery will bring bold, fresh burgers and creative menu options. Nan’s Diner will have classic favourites like hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, and tacos in a bag. The market runs Thursday from 2 to 6 PM, making it an easy stop for supper in the park.
