New Catholic High School - Premier Danielle Smith will be in Brooks this week to announce provincial funding for a new Grade 9–12 Catholic high school. Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools is receiving support to begin planning the project. The new school will help address space needs. The announcement will be made at St. Joseph’s Collegiate on Tuesday, April 1, at 3:00 p.m.

School projects process:

• Planning - Clarify the anticipated project scope, schedule and cost to support site readiness.

• Design - Improve project design to ensure projects can be delivered on time, on budget and within scope.

• Construction - Funding received to support the construction or purchase of new infrastructure.

We are growing, with an average of 500 visitors at each market, peaking at 1000 mid-summer. It's a chance to showcase your work, tell your story, and build real connections with people who value handmade, local products. Yes, we’re outside—but that’s one of the best parts. After a long Alberta winter, people are eager to be out in the sun, exploring, visiting, and supporting local. The energy at an outdoor market is unbeatable. If your products are already in shops, you’ve done the hard part—now let people meet the maker behind the work. Apply to be a vendor, choosing the market dates you want to attend.

High School Modernization: Grasslands Public Schools has received provincial design funding to modernize the Career and Technology Studies (CTS) areas at Brooks Composite High School. The funding is part of the 2025 provincial budget for school infrastructure across Alberta. This project will update the school’s hands-on learning spaces for trades, technology, and workplace training. By giving students access to modern tools and spaces, the goal is to better prepare them for careers in skilled professions. This funding is part of a broader effort to improve schools in rural and smaller urban communities across the province.
