Alberta Open Farm Days at the Brooks and District Museum Aug 17.

• a parade of antique tractors around the museum grounds.

• hands-on opportunities to make ice-cream and butter, and do laundry like early settlers did.

• play games of yesteryear and practice roping a calf that won’t get away.

Alberta Open Farms Days is an incubator for agri-tourism and rural sustainability. Events that bring Albertans together around the province.

Standalone Hospice Facility - Prairie Rose Hospice Palliative Care Society (PRHPCS) is pursuing the possibility of a standalone Hospice facility – currently 3 beds are “designated” as palliative care in the Brooks Health Centre.

What is Palliative Care? - compassionate comfort care that provides relief from the symptoms and physical and mental stress of a serious life-limiting illness. Palliative Care can be pursued at diagnosis, during curative treatment and follow-up. The focus of palliative care includes dignity, comfort & quality which continue to end of life care.

What is Hospice Care? – compassionate comfort care without curative intent – end of life.
