New City of Brooks CAO - Chris Parker was announced as the new CAO of Brooks. Parker has served as a councillor, town manager and CAO. Parker’s first CAO position was in High Prairie in 2011. He also served as the CAO for Beaverlodge, Peace River and Athabasca.

Old Rodeo Grounds for New High School and Community Services Hub - The City of Brooks has designated 23 acres of the Old Rodeo Grounds for Christ The Redeemer Catholic Schools. This will allow for the construction of a new high school, addressing the significant growth and educational needs within the Brooks community. In addition to the high school, there is potential for a multi-services site. This innovative approach could include facilities for counselling, social services, and a daycare. The partnership aims to enhance community access to the new school's amenities including the gymnasium, theatre, and CTS spaces (such as the woodshop and food services lab) outside of school hours.

Recreation Funding Increase of $30,000 has been requested for Cassils/Lake Newell Resort & Brooks which has been fixed at $70,000 for over a decade. The increased funds would be split among three organizations, including the Silver Sage Arena to offset operating costs.

Council will consider whether to approve a one-time adjustment and how to structure future funding. Council's decision could involve simply approving the increase, seeking more information from the Board, or conducting a comprehensive review of county-wide recreation funding.

Refurbishment for County Entrance Signs - The signs on Highways 1 and 36 are being considered for refurbishment or replacement. These signs have not been updated since 2011. Refurbishment or replacement of the signs could cost between $40,000 and $100,000 each. Consideration is also being given to Hamlet Community Entrance Signs.
