Brooks RCMP Youth Academy scheduled from February 5-9 will now operate during the school day, allowing participants to earn school credits. Currently, 13 Cadets have enrolled, and applications are still being accepted.

Emergency Responses 4% decrease compared to 2022 (485 down to 465).
Fire Code Infractions 16% increase from 2022 (32 up to 37).
Fire Safety Activities 74% increase from 2022 (579 up to 1005).
2023 seven Volunteer Firefighters retired.
2023 seven Volunteer Firefighters were hired.
Regional Fire Training Facility rented out 16 days to seven different agencies outside of the County (Chestermere, Strathmore, Bow Island, MD of Willow Creek, Wheatland County, Cypress County, and Methanex Emergency Response Team).
Hazmat/fire extinguisher props were taken to JBS Food Canada Inc. to teach their Emergency Response Team.

Parking discussion - Brooks City Council discussed concerns regarding vehicles for sale parked on public roads and parking on lawns. The Parking Bylaw will be reviewed to include a provision prohibiting offering vehicles for sale on public roads and the parking of vehicles on surfaces other than approved parking areas.
