NewGrow Pitch Night is Friday, Dec. 1st. There is $19,000 up for grabs + a $500 innovation prize + $10,000 to any business that pitches a successful tourism experience. Pitches start at 5:00pm in Council Chambers at City Hall and it’s open to the public! This year the public can vote on their favourite new idea.

Public transportation is in City Council's Strategic Plan for 2021-2025. Two options and three funding possibilities have been created for Council Committee to consider.

OPTION 1: Providing transportation to and from JBS Food Canada only with a.m. and p.m. pick­up and drop-off times.

OPTION 2: Providing transportation to and from JBS Food Canada, with a.m. and p.m. pick-up and drop-off times and additional semi-fixed routes throughout the City of Brooks.

"Home of the National Champions Brooks Bandits" signs will be installed at McDonald's, Hardwood Ford, and West End entrances to the City. The total cost of $5,673 for this project will come from the Council Projects Reserve.

Brooks Trails Master Plan - In-person and virtual meetings were held with stakeholders to discuss the current condition and future state of the trail system. A few highlights of the comments received from the community contributor meetings include:

• The current trail system is well-maintained.

• Increasing lighting along the trail system will increase safety and deter bad behaviour.

• Increasing connection and geographic balance of the trail system is important.

• When developing new trails, it is important to consider the accessibility of all people.

• There is a lack of signage and wayfinding along the trail system.

• Finding information about the trail system in the City is difficult.
