What ADVICE can you share? We have thought about opening a place like this for a long time. We should have done it sooner. Our advice is, "you don't know until you try". Just try it, that may be the only thing holding you back.

Street Improvement budget in 2023 is $2,000,000. The Street Improvement locations and scope of work are as follows:

3rd Street W: Reconstruction of 3 St W from 5 Ave W to 3 Ave W including sidewalk, curb and gutter, road base and reinforced asphalt.

2 Ave: Reconstruction of 2 Ave from 1 St W to 3 St E including sidewalk, curb and gutter, road base and reinforced asphalt, as well as the replacement of some storm and water infrastructure.

Tenders for the project were submitted with Brooks Asphalt & Aggregate Ltd. came in with the lowest price of $1,745,372, AECON Transportation's price was $1,809,367.

Know Dementia presented by Prairie Rose Hospice Palliative Care and Alzheimer Society at the Heritage Inn & Convention Centre on June 8th, 9-4PM. Featuring Brooks local resource groups, Q&A Panel with community members sharing their journey, interactive musical experience with guest Erica Phare-Bergh. Lunch and refreshments provided. Brooks Minor Baseball Association provides opportunities for approximately 275 youths to participate in baseball. They are planning upgrades to several baseball diamonds. Making the diamonds more easily converted from slow pitch to hardball dimensions will make the City of Brooks a more attractive option for hosting tournaments, including Provincial tournaments.

West end diamonds

• install 6 bullpens, 2 on each diamond

• install poly cap protector on all 3 perimeter fences

• weld repair gates on diamonds 2 and 3

• install 4 bullpen mounds built by BCHS shop class

Question Period - Recognizing that all residents may not be able to attend meetings held during working hours, the County of Newell Council is inviting residents to participate in two question period sessions held in conjunction with their upcoming Council meeting Thursday, April 6, 1–2:30 PM and 6–7:30 PM. Participants may attend in person at the County of Newell Office or online. Questions or comments can be submitted in advance or raised by attendees during either session. New YOUTH Program in the JBS Canada Centre will provide a supervised space for youth in the facility. There is a high number of youths that attend the JBS Canada Centre after school and SPEC would like an opportunity to partner to help alleviate some concerns that have occurred. The program will be hosted by Makerspace one day a week and provide creative, and interactive, activities using STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), art, and physical activity, to develop life skills and healthy relationships. There would be no cost for youth to participate in these programs.
