Amphitheatre in Brooks - the new proposed location for an amphitheatre is on the east side of the Lake Stafford parking lot. Plans are to start construction this fall. Financial assistance will be sought from grants, the County of Newell, and local businesses. The City's contribution would involve providing the City-owned land. The Brooks Kinsmen Club is supporting the development. The next step involves presenting the proposal to City Council for approval of the Lake Stafford location.

Brooks & District Chamber of Commerce membership decided to dissolve at a special meeting. They will join Medicine Hat & District to form a new Southeastern Alberta Chamber of Commerce. One councillor and one business person will represent Brooks on the new Board. A full-time person will be hired to work with local businesses. The goal is to have more engagement and bigger annual events like the trade show.

NewGrow Judges for pitch night on Friday, Dec. 1st are Tony Diep, Fred Rattai, Amanda Philpott, Kelly Rasmussen, and Robbie Hodgson. $10,000 will be awarded to new and innovative business ideas. Application deadline is this Friday, Nov. 24th.

The City of Brooks has a network of over 13 km of paved trails integrated with sidewalks. A thorough inventory and assessment of the existing trail system were conducted, incorporating the latest electronic base file and input from both public and community engagement.

A few highlights of the comments received from the community contributor meetings include:

• The current trail system is well-maintained.

• Increasing lighting for safety and discouraging undesirable behaviour is suggested.

• Emphasis on enhancing connection and geographic balance within the trail system.

• Prioritize accessibility for all when developing new trails.

• Noted lack of signage and wayfinding along the trails.

• Community members find it challenging to access information about the trail system in the City.
