Where the Five-Year Plan Began — In 2021, Shelly, our past manager, handed me the reins of a market she had carried through COVID, with a solid foundation of 50 vendors, about 18 at each market. In 2022, my first full year, the Rosemary Agricultural Society gave the thumbs up to try some new things, and I quietly set myself five-year goals I’ve never shared, until now: 120 vendors in the pool and 40 on a Thursday. It was a simple, aspirational plan. We haven’t reached 120, and I’m glad we didn’t. I was naive; I didn’t yet know how a market grows . . .
