Hope you had a great Heritage Day weekend! - Keeping it short this week. We spent Heritage Day at a family reunion, which was a perfect way to celebrate the holiday. One of our cousins traced the family tree all the way back to the 1700s! It was a great reminder of how our roots shape who we are, just like Heritage Day celebrates the mix of stories that make Alberta what it is.

Comment Where It Counts - Everyone has opinions about what the City should prioritize—but if you want your voice to help shape the 2026 municipal budget, the place to speak up is the official Brooks Budget Survey. Low turnout can potentially amplify certain voices over others, so broad participation matters. Last year’s results showed residents wanted more investment in recreation, pavement maintenance, and snow and ice removal. In response, Council increased the snow removal budget and added recreation projects like Griffin Park tennis court resurfacing and waterpark repairs at the Duke of Sutherland Waterpark to the capital plan.
